Monitoring and Prevention the Risk of Diabetic Foot Ulcer Infection during Coronavirus Disease-19 Pandemic: A Narrative Review and Perspective Algorithm

BACKGROUND: The coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 pandemic leads to significant changes in the healthcare system and undermining best practices for maintaining a diabetic limb. A large number of patients with foot are left without timely medical care at increased risk complications, hospitalization, lower limb amputation, death. new paradigm must be adopted transition from inpatient community-based care. introduction remote management ulcer includes an assessment complications through telemedicine further stratification according developed algorithm. METHODS: literature review was performed articles related telemedicine. We used PubMed, Google Scholar, Cochrane Library, Ovid MEDLINE search published articles. following keywords: “Telemedicine,” “diabetes mellitus,” “COVID-19,” “diabetic ulcer,” “remote monitoring.” RESULTS: Implementation proposed monitoring treatment ulcers, as well algorithm determining infection patient tactics identified risk.
